Global Component Engineer
Description:
The Global Component Engineer is responsible for performing Component Engineering duties in support of new and existing products. This position is located in our Hudson, New Hampshire headquarters but has responsibilities to all Vectron sites. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Owner of the Approved Manufacturers List and Approved Vendor List.
- Identifying and promoting the use of preferred components. (Preferred Parts List - PPL)
- Assisting Global Commodity Managers in the search and qualification of new suppliers
- Assisting Purchasing in reviewing opportunities for part substitutions and alternatives.
- Assisting Design Engineering and Manufacturing with application, qualification, selection of new and existing parts, includes active parts, passive parts, PWB’s, board level connectors and other related materials used in electronics manufacturing.
- Performing as a necessary part research, part data review and qualification, part number assignment and data entry, and part specification coordination.
- Assisting in developing supplier quality programs for related commodities.
- Acting as a liaison between the Supply Chain team and the Engineering team, interpreting and developing specifications.
- Traveling to suppliers periodically to assess capabilities and fit

Requirements and Competencies:
- BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Three to five years experience with complex electronic systems manufacturing.
- Analytic, detail-oriented and quantitative analysis skills.
- Independent / Self-Motivated
- Experience in statistical methods, Statistical Process Control (SPC), ISO 9000, and quality standards.

Applications Engineer
Description:
This position will be responsible for providing pre- & post-sales technical consultative support on fluid sensor products. The Application Engineer will translate customer technical needs into ongoing & future product development efforts. This individual must be capable of on-site troubleshooting and be customer savvy. The role serves as a critical/strategic interface between the end-user and internal sales & product development teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provides technical sales support for the development and implementation of customer applications dealing with fluid sensors, inclusive of authoring application notes, case studies and white papers.
- Applications Engineer will be required to suggest new product definitions or improvements.
- Make presentations of all technical aspects of products.
- Assists sales staff in assessing potential customer design opportunities.
- Provides follow-up support in disseminating technical information on specific applications.
- Application Engineer will provide post-sales technical customer support, inclusive of Field Service travel to address customer needs.
- Will provide product training and support, technical salesware, and related tools in support of all sales channels (reps, distributors) including interfacing with potential customers to answer questions relating to sensor product and/or applications.
- Generate ideas for customers for sensor installation as relevant to the opportunity.
- Interfacing with Engineering to address customer solutions.
- Conduct testing of fluid samples according to customer test protocols.
- Testing of sensor prototypes.
- Testing of sensor instrumentation for current products and next generation product development efforts.
- Work with product management to ensure updating of product manuals and specification sheets.
- Attend industry tradeshows, including booth set-up, attendance and take-down.
- Coordinating and addressing RMAs for customers.
- Assignments require independent action and decision-making.
Experience and Education:
- BSEE or equivalent experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of circuit design and industrial control systems and ability to conduct data analysis on Excel is a must.
- Capability to trouble-shoot and fix electrical engineering issues in the field is required.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
- Ability to write clear and concise research findings, progress reports, and proposal documentation. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management.
Mathematical Skills:
- Strong numeric ability.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and apply concepts such as regression analysis and curve fitting.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Labortatory Experience:
- Some customer problems/situations will require testing lab simulations and evaluations.
- Has to be able to operate equipment such as network analyzers, ovens, rheometers and control systems.
Other Skills And Abilities:
- Personally well organized and detail oriented.
Performance Standard:
