Vectron International Announces New Precision SMD-VCXOs for SONET / SDH, ATM and Gigabit Ethernet Applications
Norwalk, CT...
Vectron International (VI) has announced a new series of miniature precision
SMD-Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillators (VCXO's) designed using High Frequency
Fundamental (HFF) Crystal technology for use in telecommunication applications.
Available at frequencies up to 170MHz, the VC-490 provides the same performance
specifications of larger sized precision oscillators but with the smaller size
and footprint of commercial grade VCXO's.
The unit is packaged as an FR-4 based SMD device measuring 13.8 x 9.1 x 5.5mm
with a supply voltage of 3.3Vdc. Temperature ranges are -20º to +70ºC
and -40º to +85ºC with tight temperature stability. The oscillators
also have a pulling range of more than 100 ppm with linearity of < 10% for enhanced
PLL performance. Output options available include LVHCMOS, complementary LVPECL
and complementary LVDS.
The excellent performance characteristics of the devices are achieved by
incorporating a discrete circuit approach and sealed crystals. This discrete
solution with HFF fundamental mode crystals also provides exceptional low jitter
performance compared to standard ASIC-solutions.
The VC-490 's small size and high performance make it ideally suited for
communication systems including ATM/SONET/SDH and Gigabit Ethernet applications.
Vectron International designs, manufactures and markets frequency generation and
control products using the very latest techniques in both bulk acoustic wave
(BAW) and surface acoustic wave (SAW) based designs from DC to microwave frequencies.
Products include crystals and crystal oscillators; SAW filters and components;
and clock and data recovery products used in telecommunication and data communication
applications.
