NEW - 2.488 Gb/s SAW filter based clock recovery & data retiming module
Norwalk, CT...Vectron International (VI) has introduced a SAW Filter
Based Clock Recovery and Data Retiming Module @ 2.488 Gb/s.
The new VI TRU-2500 regenerates clean clock and data signals from an incoming
2.488 Gb/s non-return to zero (NRZ) data stream such as those used in fiber-
optic transmission telecommunications applications.
Product features include:
- Timing Recovery and Data Retiming for 2.488 Gb/s
- Compliance to SONET, OC-48/SDH, STM-16
- Full Compliance to SONET/SDH Jitter Tolerance and Jitter
Transfer Masks
- Available for -40° C to +85° C Temperature Applications
- Single Power Supply
- AC coupled inputs with CML outputs (amplitude peak to peak = 800 mV)
- Superior Jitter Performance
- Industry Standard 68 pin Quad flat-pack
The TRU-2500 product utilizes SAW filter clock recovery technology for superior
jitter performance. The clock is extracted from the incoming NRZ data stream
by passing it through a frequency doubler to generate spectral energy at
2.488 GHz. A precision narrow-band SAW filter extracts the clock and
eliminates unwanted jitter. The resulting clock is then precisely aligned
at the decision circuit to retime the input data. The output is thus free
of undesirable jitter and distortion. Unlike phase-locked loop designs,
the jitter transfer function is uniquely stable because it is determined
by the SAW Filter's response, which can be precisely controlled and
reproduced.
The SAW filter bandpass characteristic provides a fully compliant SONET/SDH
Jitter Tolerance and Jitter Transfer performance over the full operating
temperature range, independent of data pattern transition density. Output
clock jitter is exceptionally low.
The TRU-2500 is ideal for use in DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing)/WDM
(Wave Division Multiplexing) systems with SONET OC-48 or SDH STM-16 interfaces.
The Vectron International group designs, manufactures and markets frequency
generation and control products using the very latest techniques in both
standard crystal and surface acoustic wave (SAW) based designs from DC
to microwave frequencies. Products include crystals and crystal
oscillators; SAW filters and components: and frequency translation, and
clock and data recovery products used in telecommunication and data
communication applications.
